With nearly four decades of experience, the Dutchess County native’s first job was working at a local Exxon. That sparked a passion for all things automotive. After pumping gas and washing windows, Rob began working at a local parts supply store as a delivery person, before shifting to a role as a counter person. Within a few years, he had an opportunity to move to a G.M. dealership parts department, and eventually became a Parts Manager there.
Today, we are thrilled to have him here at Ruge’s, where his leadership and knowledge make a difference in the lives of cars, customers, and colleagues - every day!
I was born and raised in Wappingers Falls. We were a middle-class family and I have 2 older brothers. After I graduated from high school, I studied Automotive and Diesel technology in trade school..
I was drawn to the business because I loved working on cars and enjoyed helping people.e.
My favorite is football. At a young age I became a Miami Dolphins fan because they played the Jets every year and one of my older brothers was a Jet fan - and I wanted to be different. I also enjoy playing golf.
I enjoy 70’s and 80’s rock music.
I would love to take a road trip to Alaska someday. I think I would enjoy the scenery and the wildlife.
The best part of working at Ruge’s is the people. They genuinely care about their people and their customers.
