How to Factory Order Your New Subaru

Pre-Order Your New Subaru with Ruge's Subaru

If you are interested in reserving the first of a new Subaru model when it arrives to the dealership, or if you want a different vehicle than what we have in our inventory, custom ordering a new Subaru is the way to go! To get started, fill out the order form so we can assist you in getting your new car, SUV, or truck at our Subaru dealership in Rhinebeck, NY!

Once you have found the Subaru vehicle you are interested in, there are typically four main options for obtaining it. However, with inventory being in high demand, most of our customers are opting to factory order the vehicle.

Option 1
In Stock
This is a vehicle that is available and ready to go.
Advantages:
Can typically take the vehicle home the same day, or within the week!
Lock in current financing and lease incentives.
Disadvantages:
May not be your first choice of color or options
Option 2
Dealer Swap
We will facilitate a dealer trade with another Subaru dealership within our network.
Advantages:
The fastest way to get a new Subaru if it's not something we currently have in stock.
No additional charge for us to pick up the vehicle.
Disadvantages:
Can take a few days.
Vehicle will have some miles from the swap route and any previous test drives.
The car may have more accessories that what you specifically wanted
Option 3
In-Transit/Incoming
A vehicle that is scheduled to arrive but has not landed yet. This can range from a day to a month.
Advantages:
If you aren't in a rush, this is a great way to reserve a brand-new car, fresh off the truck!
No previous test drives or mileage.
Disadvantages:
Can take a few days or a few weeks depending on the vehicle.
Option 4
Custom Order
When you want to custom build your dream Subaru, choose colors, options and accessories or you want a new model that has not been built yet!
Advantages:
You can typically order the exact model, color combination, packages and accessories that you are interested in.
Best way to reserve a vehicle that hasn't been produced yet.
No extra charge for a custom order.
Disadvantages:
Usually takes 8-12 weeks.
Best way to reserve a vehicle that hasn't been produced yet.

No guarantee on exact arrival date until the vehicle is in-transit.
Finance and lease terms may change.

FAQ:

When Should I Place My Order?:

The average build time for a New Subaru is roughly 8-12 weeks, so you want to allow about 2 months for production time. Depending on the vehicle, it may be pushed ahead and arrive sooner!

Do You Require a Deposit to Order a Vehicle?:

Yes, we take a $500 to order a vehicle. This will be deducted from your purchase price when you pick up the new Subaru. If you decide to cancel the order, the deposit is refundable.

How Do I Know When My Order Will Arrive?:

After placing the order, your salesperson will keep you updated as it moves through production. They will let you know when the order is accepted, where the order is in production, when the vehicle has an ETA, and when the vehicle is in-transit to Ruge's Subaru.

Does It Cost More to Order?:

No! The pricing is the same! In fact, sometimes it's less expensive than taking something in stock, as inventory vehicles are typically equipped with accessories that cannot be removed. Accessories such as; body side moldings, wireless chargers, rear seat back protectors, all-weather mats, etc.!

Can I Lock In Finance/Lease Rates?:

Although Subaru stays fairly consistent with its rates and incentives, the financing and lease rates are determined by the delivery date rather than the time of reservation.

What If My Lease Is Expiring?:

If you decide to do a factory order, but your lease is due within the next month or two, it is often possible to do a lease extension until your order arrives. For questions and additional details - give us a call.
