The 2027 Subaru Impreza: $2,000 Less!

The 2027 Subaru Impreza: A Friendlier Price, With All-Wheel Drive Still Standard

New car prices keep climbing, so it's genuinely refreshing when an automaker goes the other way. For 2027, Subaru dropped the starting price of the Impreza by $2,000. The new base Impreza starts at $24,595 MSRP, and it still comes with Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive, a 180-horsepower boxer engine, and EyeSight Driver Assist Technology as standard.

Subaru calls it the most affordable all-wheel-drive compact vehicle on sale in the U.S. If you drive Hudson Valley roads from November through March, you already know why that matters.

What's New for the 2027 Impreza

Subaru simplified the lineup to two trims: a new base Impreza and the returning Impreza RS. The Sport trim is gone, and the base model takes its place at a lower price. Here's what stands out:

  • A $2,000 lower starting price than the 2026 entry model
  • A 2.5-liter, 180-horsepower SUBARU BOXER engine standard on both trims
  • Upgraded interior materials, including new center console stitching and revised door panels
  • A new Ignition Red exterior color
  • The RS price holds steady at $29,495 MSRP, the same as last year

Plenty of Car for the Money

You might expect a lower price to mean fewer features, but that's not the case here! Every 2027 Impreza pairs the 2.5-liter boxer engine with a Lineartronic CVT and Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive. Both trims also get paddle shifters with an 8-speed manual mode and SI-Drive with Intelligent and Sport settings, so it's a little more fun to drive than you might expect.

And since it's a hatchback, you get 20.4 cubic feet of cargo space with the rear seats up and 56.0 cubic feet with them folded. That's room for groceries, hockey bags, or a weekend's worth of camping gear.

What Comes on the Base Impreza

The base trim is well equipped right out of the gate:

  • Dark gray 17-inch alloy wheels
  • EyeSight Driver Assist Technology with Pre-Collision Braking, Lane Keep Assist, Advanced Adaptive Cruise Control with Lane Centering, and Emergency Stop Assist
  • LED steering responsive headlights with high beam assist
  • Dual 7.0-inch touchscreens with wired Apple CarPlay and Android Auto
  • Dual-zone automatic climate control
  • Keyless Access with Push-Button Start
  • USB-A and USB-C charging ports
  • SiriusXM (4-month trial), HD Radio, and Bluetooth

Stepping Up to the Impreza RS

Want a bit more style and tech? The RS adds dark gray 18-inch alloy wheels, black RS cloth upholstery, fog lights, and a roof spoiler. Inside, there's an 11.6-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto plus a newly upgraded wireless phone charger.

Here's the part local drivers will love: the RS comes standard with an all-weather package that includes heated front seats, heated mirrors, and a windshield wiper de-icer. It also adds Blind-Spot Detection with Rear Cross-Traffic Alert and Emergency Lane Keep Assist. An optional $2,070 package brings a Harman Kardon 10-speaker audio system, a power moonroof, and a 10-way power driver's seat with lumbar support.
