In case you aren’t aware, Share the Love® is an annual event supported by Subaru of America, Inc. Here’s how it works: during the month of December, for every new Subaru vehicle purchased or leased, Subaru and Ruge’s Subaru donate over $250 to the Hometown Charity selected by our team here.* This year, the result was impressive and impactful: a donation of over $28,000 has been made to NDH Foundation, which will be used to enhance Northern Dutchess Hospital’s ability to provide emergency medical care.

“Share the Love® funds will help with expanding patient rooms in our emergency department, which means we can keep wait times short and provide more privacy,” NDH President Denise George said. Lewis Ruge has been a member of the hospital’s board of directors for 48 years and the hospital’s Foundation board for 39 years. And our Ruge’s Subaru CEO, Kristin Hutchins, is co-chairwoman of the Foundation board. Said Hutchins: “We are in awe of the many people at Northern Dutchess Hospital who bring sophisticated care to patients in a family-like setting. This is a small token of our big appreciation to everyone who is part of the Northern Dutchess Hospital team—and we are incredibly thankful to our customers, who make a donation like this possible.”

*Subaru donated $250 for every new Subaru vehicle sold or leased from November 17, 2022, through January 3, 2023, to four national charities designated by the purchaser or lessee. Pre-approved Hometown Charities could be selected for donation depending on retailer participation. For every new Subaru vehicle sold or leased during the campaign period, participating retailers donated a minimum of $50 in total to their registered Hometown Charities. Purchasers/lessees had to make their charity designations by January 13, 2023. The four national charities received a guaranteed minimum donation of $250,000 each.
