You might already be aware of this - but all of us at Ruge’s are big believers in youth programming….and we especially love supporting our local sports leagues! After all, there’s no question that the teamwork, exercise, friendships, and leadership skills that kids enjoy out on the fields make a positive impact on all aspects of their lives off the fields as well.
To that end, among several organizations that we support each year is Red Hook Soccer Club, a non-profit youth soccer organization that offers intramural and travel programs for children from as young as 3 to those on the brink of their adult lives (18-year-olds).
With over 300+ youth athletes involved, the Club leadership says that their “primary goal is to create a nurturing environment where children have fun and develop a love for the game. Our intramural program offers participants a fall or spring only option, or the option for both fall and spring soccer. Our travel program (which offers a comprehensive training and competition with athletes all over the Hudson Valley Region) runs fall-spring with winter practices and clinics held at Camp Ramapo in Rhinebeck.”
And as this area has grown, Red Hook Soccer Club (RHSC) continues to expand as well. Said RHSC leadership: “This season we are excited to start developing new opportunities within our club such as the All-Abilities program that will give kids with intellectual, cognitive, and/or developmental disabilities the opportunity to learn, play and enjoy soccer in a fun, enriching, and supportive environment as well as some new cost-free clinics that will allow for our athletes to grow in the game.”
Ruge’s is currently sponsoring a U4 division team for RHSC, providing preschool-age children with a chance to develop some teamwork skills while having fun in a nurturing atmosphere. In addition, our Ruge’s banner is displayed at the Red Hook Soccer League home fields on Rockefeller Lane in Red Hook.
Said Kristin Hutchins, CEO of Ruge’s: “Red Hook Soccer Club is a fully volunteer-run organization, which means that support from local businesses is critical to their success. By getting behind their efforts, we can help them extend the wonderful league experiences to more young athletes, which makes us very proud.” We wish all of these soccer stars the absolute best this year, and we thank everyone who works so hard to enrich life for our young people!
