2027 Subaru Crosstrek Release Date
The 2027 Crosstrek is expected at Ruge's Subaru in late October, and the best part is that the starting price didn't budge. It still opens at $26,995 MSRP, the same as last year. The lineup runs from the Base trim up through Premium, Limited, Wilderness, and the Sport Hybrid and Limited Hybrid. The gas-only Sport trim is gone for 2027, and the Limited Hybrid now gets a power moonroof as standard.
2027 Subaru Forester Release Date
We expect the 2027 Forester at Ruge's Subaru in late November, starting at $29,995 MSRP, also unchanged from 2026. The big headline is the brand-new Forester Wilderness Hybrid, the first Wilderness model ever offered with a hybrid powertrain, starting at $40,495 MSRP. Is There a Subaru Outback Hybrid Coming?
It's one of the most common questions we get, and it's a fair one. The Crosstrek and Forester both offer hybrids now, but the Outback is still gas only. Here's what we know so far. At the Tokyo Motor Show in late 2025, Subaru's Outback product manager confirmed the company is considering a hybrid version of the Outback, but said the powertrain hadn't been settled. Subaru hasn't announced a timeline since.
If it does happen, the most likely candidate is the same self-charging hybrid system used in the Forester Hybrid and Crosstrek Hybrid, which pairs a 2.5-liter SUBARU BOXER engine with Toyota-developed hybrid technology and keeps Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive.
